Madeira - Island of orchids
Madeira tempt us since we first saw the picture on the internet. And when I read the subtropical climate of eternal greenery bathed island and the scent of flowers we were overwhelmed. We were sure that our next trip will be to the island of orchids. Feeling, leaving the island tour is different from that in the big cities. It's about romance, exotic, sun, sea, long coastal walks. Right next to these feelings we wanted to touch in early November. So our five days in a paradise began.
More from the airport heard in the air the scent of flowers. I wanted e436 every part of me to feel it, so I could not stop to inhale e436 deeply. We landed in the evening and on the road with a small bus we enjoyed the night lights of the largest city and capital Funchal. He welcomed us calm, clean cobblestone streets, palm trees and ocean noise. Instead we booked over the internet room got cozy hotel suite. We slept soundly, probably not only because we were tired from a long time, but for the peace and quiet outside.
In the morning after breakfast, we were ready for our first day meeting with the island city. The city is located tiers with white perched two-and three-story houses, most of them with palm gardens. The port anchor e436 was a big cruise ship. We read that tourist liners do not miss the route to Madeira is and we missed him in the list.
During this first day of our trip we decided to visit the most beautiful tropical garden on the island where we could see for yourself later. Road to walk is about 3 hours up the curving roads with sharp turns. Another way to access is by lift already become e436 an attraction as it offers fantastic views of the city and ocean. Zaiskachvahme slowly with gondola. Gradually the houses e436 below were getting smaller, and the ocean of players in it sunlight unfolded before us. Sky and water were merged into enchanting blue of which I could not take my eyes off. Imperceptibly came up on top of Funchal.
At the beginning of the garden there is a three-storey museum with painted walls in different colors. On the first floor mineral collection and gemstones welcome tourists. I watched breathlessly sparkling works of the time came from Brazil, Zambia, Portugal, South Africa, Peru, North America, Argentina. The other two floors together a collection of sculptures by contemporary e436 artists e436 from Zimbabwe. Interesting are the figures depicting human faces and animals, as well as the author's view of them.
If everything e436 was intact, as created, spray beauty and life. I watched and took pictures! In the garden were scattered arches and niches. There was also a collection of boards with Spanish - Moorish pieces of 15th and 16th centuries as well as contemporary. They all represented religious, social and cultural events in the history e436 of Portugal. One after another before my eyes popped beautiful waterfalls and springs e436 whose water noise blended into a soothing melody.
We encountered two oriental gardens - Japanese and Chinese with typical these symbolic elements - marble dragon, surrounded by children, which symbolizes fertility, pagoda, Buddha statues, stone decorative items. Bridges crossing rivers, e436 gazebo and arbor in the Japanese style had become a part of nature.
Went another path came across well sorted clay Japanese soldiers in human growth. Somewhere far away in the greenery a cry of a peacock. The garden found parrots, tits, wild swans from Iceland, Peacocks, fighting cocks from Indonesia.
Came unexpectedly, I had never seen so tiny rain drops and as suddenly started and stopped for a moment. Magnificent e436 views to be found nestled below the city and endless blue ocean. I felt like I was in a fairy tale, not in a small jungle and seemed e436 every moment to me will appear unfamiliar animals or vegetation that I've never seen, and was. I was literally removed from reality.
A long walk along the promenade in the old town of narrow streets kaldarameni. It's e436 full of little e436 restaurants e436 with music and remote menu with traditional dishes attract e436 tourists. I could not wait to try the cuisine of the island, so that before long I was thumbing through one of the menu restorantchetata. My choice is stopped at a local fish specialty Espada, fried banana and garnish. My companion ordered another local specialty espetada, long skewer with chunks of beef, which is served in a large hanging hook. Here I was able to taste two local dishes were very tasty and I was pleased with the food on the island. Dinner complete with cake, typical of the famous e436 Madeira wine from the island, a gift from the restaurant. The first day of our island adventure e436 mine as a moment full of beauty, wonder, surprise and delight.
