I recently had the great pleasure to be in California to participate in the world's largest (that's U.S.) greenkeeper fair. It was held in San Diego and we took the opportunity to visit some legendary tracks from there and up to San Fransisco.
First stop was Trump National in Los Angeles - a path that has cost on the wrong side of 1 billion Danish kroner to build. One reason for the insane price is the location - it is established on a hillside that drops down toward the Pacific, and they have therefore had to make each hole as a sort of terrace. Subsequently, they have been ordered to restore the original nature, nor was free acc. their own statements. The track felt creepy difficult - you are outside the fairway, e436 it lost ball - and it came easily as winter hit Dane ..... They said to expect to lose as many balls as your handicap - it kept Unfortunately plug for my part, but it was still nice to play again.
Then we went up to Monterey, where there is a string of courses. We visited Spyglass Hill, Pebble Beach and last but not least Cypress Point. They lie side by side, with Pebble Beach as the most link-like. What's more, Spanish Bay and Del Monte Golf Club also next door. Most people have heard of Peeble Beach and Spyglass Hill, and it is undoubtedly one of the most exclusive I've seen - with green fee rates of respectively $ 500 and $ 400 should e436 also expect something like no other. The most exciting was actually Cypress Point, as it is a private club - reportedly as private as Augusta. It was a bit of a scoop we were allowed e436 to come in and see the pitch - unfortunately we were not playing there. There are 250 members and there will be new in when someone is dying, e436 they told us. Among other things, play Clint Eastwood e436 there - we saw him not among the 15 players who were on the field that day - a normal number of players per. day of the season. PGA Tour player who is not as pitch now is too short to the long-hitting tour players - but the stand layout and location was quite unique. With it plays pressure there's also no excuse for not delivering the goods
Filled with amazing impression we continued north to San Francisco, where we visited TPC Harding Park and Olympic Club. The latter laid hosted the U.S. Open in 2012 and the booth was still super. A parkland course in the middle of the city - very well maintained. A little "whimsy" was that it was a public club - ie. all could come in off the street and join. However, there was 10-year wait pt. - They are 2000 members to 36 holes. But the reason for the wait is that it is one of the cheapest (good) courses in the area - it only costs $ 16,000 deposit + $ 300. month, which is only a fraction of what other clubs in the area offer.
